    Anouncement -Weapon Design-

Post by Kejin March 17th 2009, 4:45 pm

Weapons have attack speed. Lets say slow is about 3.5 seconds and quick is 1.0.

    Gotta rank the weapons now.

    2h ~ 2.0 - 3.5
    1h ~ 1.5 - 2.0
    Fist ~ 1.0 - 1.5
    Dagger ~ 1.0 - 1.5

Every weapon will have dps, dps is based off average damage/speed.

for the iLvl lets assume the weapon damage is exactly the number on the iLvl. Spell weapons will sacrifice weapon damage for magic power.

    Lvl 1 Dagger: 1.0 DPS
    Lvl 50 Dagger: 50 DPS
    Lvl 100 Dagger: 100 DPS
    Lvl 125 Dagger: 125 DPS

Daggers will be duel wielded so an offhand dagger would have half the dps.

Lvl 1 Offhand Dagger: 0.5 DPS
Lvl 50 Offhand Dagger: 25 DPS
Lvl 100 Offhand Dagger: 50 DPS
Lvl 125 Offhand Dagger: 62.5 DPS

So a 2h weapon must equal the output of an offhand/mainhand combined.

    Lvl 1 Pole-arm: 1.5 DPS
    Lvl 50 Pole-arm: 75 DPS
    Lvl 100 Pole-arm: 150 DPS
    Lvl 125 Pole-arm: 187.5 DPS

    Mana Regain:

I got one of the greatest ideas ever from playing tales of symphonia 2 (wii) and that is gaining mana on melee hit. This will be the line that helps us create non healing melee classes get their mana back (especially when sitting with low mana pools) duel wielding will compliment this. But to give the 2h weilding classes a fair amount of mana we'll probobly give them more mana per hit.

As a start: 1h: 1 sec speed weapon, 1 mana back on hit, 2h double the regain.

Actually it should gain mana based on the weapon speed, if the weapon speed is 3, you will gain 3 mana a swing, double if it's 2h. That way everyone is gaining 2 mana a second, rogues will gain it more steadily, while dragoons, knights, and 2h berserkers are gaining it in more burstfull amounts.

Parrying, types of weapons will affect parry chance gained from defense, a giant 2h sword will have a higher parry chance than a dagger, due to the fact that the sword is longer and easier to parry with, the dagger has a low chance cause it has very little length to parry with.
